2022 vs New Normal™ for elderly men aged 70-74 in Idaho

    1. 1,122 of 1,122 total deaths were from All Causes
    2. 100.00% of all deaths were from All Causes
    3. This is down 6% compared to Old Normal rates.
    4. 1,192 of 1,192 total deaths would have been expected under Old Normal conditions.
    5. 70 fewer than expected deaths from All Causes in 2022.
    6. 618 fewer than expected deaths from All Causes (2015-2022)
    1. To show this year’s deaths from All Causes are down 6% compared to Old Normal rates, we need to calculate the rates for both 2022 and for the Old Normal.

Remember, death rates are calculated to answer these questions:

    • “How many elderly men aged 70-74 were there?” and
    • “How many of them died from All Causes?”

The following 2 charts provide this information:

    Deaths – All Causes – Male – Aged 70-74 | Idaho, United-states

    Graph showing Deaths - All Causes - Male - Aged 70-74 | Idaho, United-states

    Population – Male – Aged 70-74 – [2000-2022] | Idaho, United-states

    Graph showing Population - Male - Aged 70-74 - [2000-2022] | Idaho, United-states

From the charts, we can see that in 2022, 1,122 of 43,763 elderly men aged 70-74 living in Idaho died from All Causes.

    1,122 ÷ 43,763 = 0.02564 (2022 CDR)

We’ll use the table below to calculate our Old Normal rate for deaths from All Causes

    Deaths
    All Causes

    Totals:
    313,478
    8,540
    8,540

The table shows there were a total of 8,540 deaths from All Causes among 313,478 elderly men aged 70-74 living in Idaho in the 15 years immediately prior to the New Normal™.

    8,540 ÷ 313,478 = 0.02724 (Old Normal CDR)

We can use the Old Normal rate to predict this year’s deaths:

2022 pop X Old Normal CDR = expected deaths

    43,763 X 0.02724 = 1,192 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths shows lives saved or lost:

    1,1221,192 = -70

Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths gives us the comparative rates:

    1,122 ÷ 1,192 = 0.9408

This reveals 70 lives saved and is 94.08% of what we expected (a decrease of 6%) in deaths from All Causes among elderly men aged 70-74 living in Idaho in 2022, as compared to the Old Normal.

This is the same method used by Public Health to calculate the 5-yr CDR (Cumulative Death Rate):

    6,381 ÷ 254,320 = 0.02509 (5-yr CDR)

    43,763(2022 pop) X 0.02509 = 1,098 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths:

    1,1221,098 = 24 or 24 lives lost

Divide actual deaths by expected deaths:

    1,122 ÷ 1,098 = 1.0214 or an increase of 2%

for deaths from All Causes among elderly men aged 70-74 living in Idaho in 2022, as compared to the previous 5 years.

Compare our Old Normal to the 5yr CDR. Does it tell the same story your TV does?

Finally, the same method can also be used to compare our Old Normal rate to the New Normal™ rate:

New Normal™ population X Old Normal rate = expected deaths

    298,083 X 0.02724 = 8,121 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths:

    75038,121 = -618 or 618 lives saved

Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths:

    7,503 ÷ 8,121 = 0.9236 or a decrease of 8%

in deaths from All Causes among elderly men aged 70-74 living in Idaho in the New Normal™, as compared to the Old Normal.

The world has been led to believe that a deadly pandemic swept the globe beginning in 2020, causing an increase in death rates, especially among the elderly

The data show that death rates began to increase in 2015, immediately upon implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, that young adults have experienced ever-increasing death rates since, and that death rates among the elderly have remained relatively stable.
