Remember, death rates are calculated to answer these questions:

  • “How many elderly men aged 80-84 were there?” and
  • “How many of them died from All Causes?”

The following 2 charts provide this information:

Deaths – All Causes – Male – Aged 80-84 | Quebec, Canada

Population – Male – Aged 80-84 – [2000-2022] | Quebec, Canada

Graph showing Population - Male - Aged 80-84 - [2000-2022] | Quebec, Canada

From the charts, we can see that in 2022, 5,945 of 95,719 elderly men aged 80-84 living in Quebec died from All Causes.

5,945 ÷ 95,719 = 0.06211 (2022 CDR)

Cumulative:

Totals:
885,967
67,312
67,312

The table shows there were a total of 67,312 deaths from All Causes among 885,967 elderly men aged 80-84 living in Quebec in the 15 years immediately prior to the New Normal™.

67,312 ÷ 885,967 = 0.07598 (Old Normal CDR)

We can use the Old Normal rate to predict this year’s deaths:

2022 pop X Old Normal CDR = expected deaths

95,719 X 0.07598 = 7,272 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths shows lives saved or lost:

5,9457,272 = -1,327

Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths gives us the comparative rates:

5,945 ÷ 7,272 = 0.8174

This reveals 1,327 lives saved and is 81.74% of what we expected (a decrease of 18%) in deaths from All Causes among elderly men aged 80-84 living in Quebec in 2022, as compared to the Old Normal.

This is the same method used by Public Health to calculate the 5-yr CDR (Cumulative Death Rate):

36,236 ÷ 570,935 = 0.06347 (5-yr CDR)

95,719(2022 pop) X 0.06347 = 6,075 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths:

5,9456,075 = -130 or 130 lives saved

Divide actual deaths by expected deaths:

5,945 ÷ 6,075 = 0.9784 or a decrease of 2%

for deaths from All Causes among elderly men aged 80-84 living in Quebec in 2022, as compared to the previous 5 years.

Compare our Old Normal to the 5yr CDR. Does it tell the same story your TV does?

Finally, the same method can also be used to compare our Old Normal rate to the New Normal™ rate:

New Normal™ population X Old Normal rate = expected deaths

666,654 X 0.07598 = 50,650 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths:

4218150,650 = -8,469 or 8,469 lives saved

Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths:

42,181 ÷ 50,650 = 0.8327 or a decrease of 17%

in deaths from All Causes among elderly men aged 80-84 living in Quebec in the New Normal™, as compared to the Old Normal.

The world has been led to believe that a deadly pandemic swept the globe beginning in 2020, causing an increase in death rates, especially among the elderly

The data show that death rates began to increase in 2015, immediately upon implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, that young adults have experienced ever-increasing death rates since, and that death rates among the elderly have remained relatively stable.
