2022 vs New Normal™ for people aged 60-64 in Canada

    1. 20,266 of 20,266 total deaths were from All Causes
    2. 100.00% of all deaths were from All Causes
    3. This is down 7% compared to Old Normal rates.
    4. 21,660 of 21,660 total deaths would have been expected under Old Normal conditions.
    5. 1,394 fewer than expected deaths from All Causes in 2022.
    6. 16,485 fewer than expected deaths from All Causes (2015-2022)
    1. To show this year’s deaths from All Causes are down 7% compared to Old Normal rates, we need to calculate the rates for both 2022 and for the Old Normal.

Remember, death rates are calculated to answer these questions:

    • “How many people aged 60-64 were there?” and
    • “How many of them died from All Causes?”

The following 2 charts provide this information:

Deaths – All Causes – Both Sexes – Aged 60-64 | Canada, Canada

Graph showing Deaths - All Causes - Both Sexes - Aged 60-64 | Canada, Canada

    Graph showing Population - Both Sexes - Aged 60-64 - [2000-2022] | Canada, Canada

From the charts, we can see that in 2022, 20,266 of 2,640,008 people aged 60-64 living in Canada died from All Causes.

    20,266 ÷ 2,640,008 = 0.00768 (2022 CDR)

We’ll use the table below to calculate our Old Normal rate for deaths from All Causes

    Totals:
    25,687,451

    210,758

The table shows there were a total of 210,758 deaths from All Causes among 25,687,451 people aged 60-64 living in Canada in the 15 years immediately prior to the New Normal™.

    210,758 ÷ 25,687,451 = 0.00820 (Old Normal CDR)

We can use the Old Normal rate to predict this year’s deaths:

2022 pop X Old Normal CDR = expected deaths

    2,640,008 X 0.00820 = 21,660 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths shows lives saved or lost:

    20,26621,660 = -1,394

Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths gives us the comparative rates:

    20,266 ÷ 21,660 = 0.9345

This reveals 1,394 lives saved and is 93.45% of what we expected (a decrease of 7%) in deaths from All Causes among people aged 60-64 living in Canada in 2022, as compared to the Old Normal.

This is the same method used by Public Health to calculate the 5-yr CDR (Cumulative Death Rate):

    125,062 ÷ 17,082,003 = 0.00732 (5-yr CDR)

    2,640,008(2022 pop) X 0.00732 = 19,328 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths:

    20,26619,328 = 938 or 938 lives lost

Divide actual deaths by expected deaths:

    20,266 ÷ 19,328 = 1.0471 or an increase of 5%

for deaths from All Causes among people aged 60-64 living in Canada in 2022, as compared to the previous 5 years.

Compare our Old Normal to the 5yr CDR. Does it tell the same story your TV does?

Finally, the same method can also be used to compare our Old Normal rate to the New Normal™ rate:

New Normal™ population X Old Normal rate = expected deaths

    19,722,011 X 0.00820 = 161,813 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths:

    145328161,813 = -16,485 or 16,485 lives saved

Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths:

    145,328 ÷ 161,813 = 0.8970 or a decrease of 10%

in deaths from All Causes among people aged 60-64 living in Canada in the New Normal™, as compared to the Old Normal.

The world has been led to believe that a deadly pandemic swept the globe beginning in 2020, causing an increase in death rates, especially among the elderly

The data show that death rates began to increase in 2015, immediately upon implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, that young adults have experienced ever-increasing death rates since, and that death rates among the elderly have remained relatively stable.
