  1. Total (607)

2022 vs New Normal™ for elderly men and women aged 70-74 in District Of Columbia

    1. 607 of 607 total deaths were from All Causes
    2. 100.00% of all deaths were from All Causes
    3. This is down 6% compared to Old Normal rates.
    4. 646 of 646 total deaths would have been expected under Old Normal conditions.
    5. 39 fewer than expected deaths from All Causes in 2022.
    6. 614 fewer than expected deaths from All Causes (2015-2022)
    1. To show this year’s deaths from All Causes are down 6% compared to Old Normal rates, we need to calculate the rates for both 2022 and for the Old Normal.

Remember, death rates are calculated to answer these questions:

    • “How many elderly men and women aged 70-74 were there?” and
    • “How many of them died from All Causes?”

The following 2 charts provide this information:

Deaths – All Causes – Both Sexes – Aged 70-74 | District Of Columbia, United-states

Graph showing Deaths - All Causes - Both Sexes - Aged 70-74 | District Of Columbia, United-states

    Graph showing Population - Both Sexes - Aged 70-74 - [2000-2022] | District Of Columbia, United-states

From the charts, we can see that in 2022, 607 of 22,543 elderly men and women aged 70-74 living in District Of Columbia died from All Causes.

    607 ÷ 22,543 = 0.02693 (2022 CDR)

We’ll use the table below to calculate our Old Normal rate for deaths from All Causes

    All Causes

    Totals:
    237,973
    6,817
    6,817

The table shows there were a total of 6,817 deaths from All Causes among 237,973 elderly men and women aged 70-74 living in District Of Columbia in the 15 years immediately prior to the New Normal™.

    6,817 ÷ 237,973 = 0.02865 (Old Normal CDR)

We can use the Old Normal rate to predict this year’s deaths:

2022 pop X Old Normal CDR = expected deaths

    22,543 X 0.02865 = 646 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths shows lives saved or lost:

    607646 = -39

Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths gives us the comparative rates:

    607 ÷ 646 = 0.9396

This reveals 39 lives saved and is 93.96% of what we expected (a decrease of 6%) in deaths from All Causes among elderly men and women aged 70-74 living in District Of Columbia in 2022, as compared to the Old Normal.

This is the same method used by Public Health to calculate the 5-yr CDR (Cumulative Death Rate):

    3,573 ÷ 144,810 = 0.02467 (5-yr CDR)

    22,543(2022 pop) X 0.02467 = 556 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths:

    607556 = 51 or 51 lives lost

Divide actual deaths by expected deaths:

    607 ÷ 556 = 1.0909 or an increase of 9%

for deaths from All Causes among elderly men and women aged 70-74 living in District Of Columbia in 2022, as compared to the previous 5 years.

Compare our Old Normal to the 5yr CDR. Does it tell the same story your TV does?

Finally, the same method can also be used to compare our Old Normal rate to the New Normal™ rate:

New Normal™ population X Old Normal rate = expected deaths

    167,353 X 0.02865 = 4,794 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths:

    41804,794 = -614 or 614 lives saved

Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths:

    4,180 ÷ 4,794 = 0.8716 or a decrease of 13%

in deaths from All Causes among elderly men and women aged 70-74 living in District Of Columbia in the New Normal™, as compared to the Old Normal.

The world has been led to believe that a deadly pandemic swept the globe beginning in 2020, causing an increase in death rates, especially among the elderly

The data show that death rates began to increase in 2015, immediately upon implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, that young adults have experienced ever-increasing death rates since, and that death rates among the elderly have remained relatively stable.
