151 deaths from All Causes were among teens aged 15-19
2022 vs New Normal™ for teens aged 15-19 in Alberta
- 151 of 151 total deaths were from All Causes
- 99.99% of all deaths were from All Causes
- This is up 10% compared to Old Normal rates.
- 135 of 135 total deaths would have been expected under Old Normal conditions.
- 16 excess deaths from All Causes in 2022.
- 88 fewer than expected deaths from All Causes (2015-2022)
- To show this year’s deaths from All Causes are up 10% compared to Old Normal rates, we need to calculate the rates for both 2022 and for the Old Normal.
Remember, death rates are calculated to answer these questions:
- “How many teens aged 15-19 were there?” and
- “How many of them died from All Causes?”
The following 2 charts provide this information:
Deaths – All Causes – Both Sexes – Aged 15-19 | Alberta, Canada
Population – Both Sexes – Aged 15-19 – [2001-2022] | Alberta, Canada
From the charts, we can see that in 2022, 151 of 268,547 teens aged 15-19 living in Alberta died from All Causes.
151 ÷ 268,547 = 0.00056 (2022 CDR)
Deaths/100,000 Both Sexes 15-19 from All Causes
The table shows there were a total of 1,716 deaths from All Causes among 3,408,143 teens aged 15-19 living in Alberta in the 14 years immediately prior to the New Normal™.
1,716 ÷ 3,408,143 = 0.00050 (Old Normal CDR)
We can use the Old Normal rate to predict this year’s deaths:
2022 pop X Old Normal CDR = expected deaths
268,547 X 0.00050 = 135 expected deaths
The difference between actual and expected deaths shows lives saved or lost:
151 – 135 = 16
Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths gives us the comparative rates:
151 ÷ 135 = 1.0950
This reveals 16 lives lost and is 109.50% of what we expected (an increase of 10%) in deaths from All Causes among teens aged 15-19 living in Alberta in 2022, as compared to the Old Normal.
This is the same method used by Public Health to calculate the 5-yr CDR (Cumulative Death Rate):
782 ÷ 1,760,194 = 0.00044 (5-yr CDR)
268,547(2022 pop) X 0.00044 = 119 expected deaths
The difference between actual and expected deaths:
151 – 119 = 32 or 32 lives lost
Divide actual deaths by expected deaths:
151 ÷ 119 = 1.2378 or an increase of 24%
for deaths from All Causes among teens aged 15-19 living in Alberta in 2022, as compared to the previous 5 years.
Compare our Old Normal to the 5yr CDR. Does it tell the same story your TV does?
Finally, the same method can also be used to compare our Old Normal rate to the New Normal™ rate:
New Normal™ population X Old Normal rate = expected deaths
2,028,741 X 0.00050 = 1,021 expected deaths
The difference between actual and expected deaths:
933 – 1,021 = -88 or 88 lives saved
Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths:
933 ÷ 1,021 = 0.8956 or a decrease of 10%
in deaths from All Causes among teens aged 15-19 living in Alberta in the New Normal™, as compared to the Old Normal.
The world has been led to believe that a deadly pandemic swept the globe beginning in 2020, causing an increase in death rates, especially among the elderly
The data show that death rates began to increase in 2015, immediately upon implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, that young adults have experienced ever-increasing death rates since, and that death rates among the elderly have remained relatively stable.
