2022 vs New Normal™ for elderly men aged 80-84 in Canada

    1. 24,217 of 24,217 total deaths were from All Causes
    2. 100.00% of all deaths were from All Causes
    3. This is down 16% compared to Old Normal rates.
    4. 28,661 of 28,661 total deaths would have been expected under Old Normal conditions.
    5. 4,444 fewer than expected deaths from All Causes in 2022.
    6. 34,353 fewer than expected deaths from All Causes (2015-2022)
    1. To show this year’s deaths from All Causes are down 16% compared to Old Normal rates, we need to calculate the rates for both 2022 and for the Old Normal.

Remember, death rates are calculated to answer these questions:

    • “How many elderly men aged 80-84 were there?” and
    • “How many of them died from All Causes?”

The following 2 charts provide this information:

    Deaths – All Causes – Male – Aged 80-84 | Canada, Canada

Graph showing Deaths - All Causes - Male - Aged 80-84 | Canada, Canada

    Population – Male – Aged 80-84 – [2000-2022] | Canada, Canada

    Graph showing Population - Male - Aged 80-84 - [2000-2022] | Canada, Canada

From the charts, we can see that in 2022, 24,217 of 391,174 elderly men aged 80-84 living in Canada died from All Causes.

    24,217 ÷ 391,174 = 0.06191 (2022 CDR)

We’ll use the table below to calculate our Old Normal rate for deaths from All Causes

    Totals:
    3,825,324
    280,275
    280,275

The table shows there were a total of 280,275 deaths from All Causes among 3,825,324 elderly men aged 80-84 living in Canada in the 15 years immediately prior to the New Normal™.

    280,275 ÷ 3,825,324 = 0.07327 (Old Normal CDR)

We can use the Old Normal rate to predict this year’s deaths:

2022 pop X Old Normal CDR = expected deaths

    391,174 X 0.07327 = 28,661 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths shows lives saved or lost:

    24,21728,661 = -4,444

Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths gives us the comparative rates:

    24,217 ÷ 28,661 = 0.8448

This reveals 4,444 lives saved and is 84.48% of what we expected (a decrease of 16%) in deaths from All Causes among elderly men aged 80-84 living in Canada in 2022, as compared to the Old Normal.

This is the same method used by Public Health to calculate the 5-yr CDR (Cumulative Death Rate):

    145,222 ÷ 2,390,276 = 0.06076 (5-yr CDR)

    391,174(2022 pop) X 0.06076 = 23,766 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths:

    24,21723,766 = 451 or 451 lives lost

Divide actual deaths by expected deaths:

    24,217 ÷ 23,766 = 1.0188 or an increase of 2%

for deaths from All Causes among elderly men aged 80-84 living in Canada in 2022, as compared to the previous 5 years.

Compare our Old Normal to the 5yr CDR. Does it tell the same story your TV does?

Finally, the same method can also be used to compare our Old Normal rate to the New Normal™ rate:

New Normal™ population X Old Normal rate = expected deaths

    2,781,450 X 0.07327 = 203,792 expected deaths

The difference between actual and expected deaths:

    169439203,792 = -34,353 or 34,353 lives saved

Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths:

    169,439 ÷ 203,792 = 0.8313 or a decrease of 17%

in deaths from All Causes among elderly men aged 80-84 living in Canada in the New Normal™, as compared to the Old Normal.

The world has been led to believe that a deadly pandemic swept the globe beginning in 2020, causing an increase in death rates, especially among the elderly

The data show that death rates began to increase in 2015, immediately upon implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, that young adults have experienced ever-increasing death rates since, and that death rates among the elderly have remained relatively stable.
