- 36,847 of all deaths were among men
- 5,046 of all deaths were among those aged 60-64

2022 vs New Normal™ for men aged 60-64 in Washington
- 3,105 of 3,105 total deaths were from All Causes
- 100.00% of all deaths were from All Causes
- This is up 16% compared to Old Normal rates.
- 2,682 of 2,682 total deaths would have been expected under Old Normal conditions.
- 423 excess deaths from All Causes in 2022.
- 1,088 excess deaths from All Causes (2015-2022)
- To show this year’s deaths from All Causes are up 16% compared to Old Normal rates, we need to calculate the rates for both 2022 and for the Old Normal.
Remember, death rates are calculated to answer these questions:
- “How many men aged 60-64 were there?” and
- “How many of them died from All Causes?”
The following 2 charts provide this information:
Deaths – All Causes – Male – Aged 60-64 | Washington, United-states
Population – Male – Aged 60-64 – [2000-2022] | Washington, United-states
From the charts, we can see that in 2022, 3,105 of 233,761 men aged 60-64 living in Washington died from All Causes.
3,105 ÷ 233,761 = 0.01328 (2022 CDR)
The table shows there were a total of 27,185 deaths from All Causes among 2,369,173 men aged 60-64 living in Washington in the 15 years immediately prior to the New Normal™.
27,185 ÷ 2,369,173 = 0.01147 (Old Normal CDR)
We can use the Old Normal rate to predict this year’s deaths:
2022 pop X Old Normal CDR = expected deaths
233,761 X 0.01147 = 2,682 expected deaths
The difference between actual and expected deaths shows lives saved or lost:
3,105 – 2,682 = 423
Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths gives us the comparative rates:
3,105 ÷ 2,682 = 1.1566
This reveals 423 lives lost and is 115.66% of what we expected (an increase of 16%) in deaths from All Causes among men aged 60-64 living in Washington in 2022, as compared to the Old Normal.
This is the same method used by Public Health to calculate the 5-yr CDR (Cumulative Death Rate):
18,791 ÷ 1,579,669 = 0.01190 (5-yr CDR)
233,761(2022 pop) X 0.01190 = 2,781 expected deaths
The difference between actual and expected deaths:
3,105 – 2,781 = 324 or 324 lives lost
Divide actual deaths by expected deaths:
3,105 ÷ 2,781 = 1.1157 or an increase of 12%
for deaths from All Causes among men aged 60-64 living in Washington in 2022, as compared to the previous 5 years.
Compare our Old Normal to the 5yr CDR. Does it tell the same story your TV does?
Finally, the same method can also be used to compare our Old Normal rate to the New Normal™ rate:
New Normal™ population X Old Normal rate = expected deaths
1,813,430 X 0.01147 = 20,808 expected deaths
The difference between actual and expected deaths:
21896 – 20,808 = 1,088 or 1,088 lives lost
Dividing the actual deaths by the expected deaths:
21,896 ÷ 20,808 = 1.0514 or an increase of 5%
in deaths from All Causes among men aged 60-64 living in Washington in the New Normal™, as compared to the Old Normal.
The world has been led to believe that a deadly pandemic swept the globe beginning in 2020, causing an increase in death rates, especially among the elderly
The data show that death rates began to increase in 2015, immediately upon implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, that young adults have experienced ever-increasing death rates since, and that death rates among the elderly have remained relatively stable.
